Maersk's second-quarter results
Maersk increased its profit by 20% in the second quarter. The Ocean segment was the main driver of this growth, adding $2 billion to its revenue.
EBITDA increased from $2.3 billion to $3 billion, while operating profit (EBIT) increased from $845 million to $1.6 billion.
Transport volumes in the Ocean segment grew by 4.1%, primarily driven by exports from Asian ports. The average container load rate increased by 22%, and vessel utilization remained at 96%.
